ToggleWhat is Blogging Coaching
Blogging coaching is a cornerstone of successful online entrepreneurship as a content creator. It’s possible to learn everything you need to know for free. The problem is that it can be hard as a beginner to choose the right actions to take. And it can be easy as a beginner to feel information overload or overwhelm.
Blogging coaching offers a personalized approach to creating or scaling a profitable blog. And as opposed to just doing research or downloading free guides, coaching is tailored to your unique goals as business owners.
A profitable blog is more than just a hobby. It’s a valuable asset that can generate significant revenue. (I sold my first blog in 2020, even though it had my name in the title!)
However, success requires dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to put in the hard work. With blogging coaching, you can tap into a wealth of knowledge and expertise of someone who’s already done what you want to do. This helps maximize your earning potential faster, especially if you get on the right track early.
While building a profitable blog usually requires a decent investment of time and effort, the rewards are worth it.
By partnering with a blogging coach, creators can accelerate their progress. This minimize costly mistakes (cost of either time, or money or both). It also helps unlock new opportunities for growth and expansion. In essence, blogging coaching is an investment in your future. One that has the potential to yield returns and pave the way for long-term success.

When Should You Look For Blog Coaches
Even if you’ve had some success, it’s super helpful to recognize when you could benefit from the expertise of a professional blogging coach. So, when should you seek out blogging coaching?
Like I mentioned, there’s tons of free or low cost resources online. One approach is to use as many of those resources as you can before you get stuck.
Lots of content creators never hire a coach!
But if you get stuck in monetizing, or have purchased a few low cost courses and haven’t taken action or gotten anywhere, it might be time to seek out coaching. Unlike generic online courses or tutorials, one-on-one blogging coaching gives you direct access to an expert. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your existing blog to the next level, the right coach can provide shortcuts for your success that are tailored to your specific needs.
The Right Fit
When seeking out a blogging coach, it’s essential to find the right person for your circumstances and aspirations. Look for a professional blogging coach who has a proven track record of success, relevant experience in your niche, and a coaching style that resonates with you. By finding the right coach, you’ll ensure that you receive guidance and support that actually align with your goals and personality.
One of the key benefits of working with a blogging coach is the accountability they provide. This is why a lot of established bloggers come to me for help, even when they feel like they know what they’re doing.
Your coach can serve as your accountability partner. They hold you accountable for taking action and staying on track with your blogging journey. This support helps my clients push past obstacles they wouldn’t be motivated to overcome on their own. A coach can also remove blockers, helping you overcome challenges.
Blog Coaching Services for New Bloggers
For new bloggers, a blogging journey can be both fun / creative, and overwhelming.
Navigating the tech and tools of content creation, audience growth, and monetization strategies requires learning a lot of new things at once.
This is where blog coaching services for new bloggers come in.
Blogging coaching offers invaluable assistance to ensure you start off on the right track. By providing personalized advice and strategies tailored to their specific goals and challenges, new bloggers can avoid common pitfalls and accelerate their growth.
For example: a lot of former clients came to me because they’d had a blog for years that never made any money. The problem was that they’d started the blog as a hobby, then decided to make it a business. The blog had no focus, very little SEO, and no email list, but sometimes had been live for years. If these clients had started with their business goals first, they could have massively reduced the time and effort it took to make their first dollar. From optimizing blog content to cultivating an engaged audience, coaching services empower new bloggers to harness the power of blogging and get results much faster.
Small blogs often face unique challenges, from attracting initial readership to establishing credibility within their niche.
Learn from the mistakes of others and leverage proven strategies. With expert guidance, small blogs can grow into influential platforms faster.

Blogging Mentor for Full-time Blogger
For a full-time blogger aiming to scale their blog income, partnering with a blogging mentor can be a game-changer.
Transitioning from a hobbyist to a full-time income earner requires strategic planning and stick-to-it-iveness. A blogging mentor helps established bloggers set monthly goals aligned with their vision for scaling a full-time income. Finding a good fit with a mentor is crucial, as it fosters a supportive and productive relationship that encourages growth in aligned ways.
Sometimes, full time creators find themselves needing a complete overhaul of existing strategies or their tech stack. This is a great time to leverage a blogging mentor as a full-time blogger.
A blog coach should quickly be able to understand your approach, identify areas for improvement and develop a roadmap for your next steps. It could be refining monetization strategies, optimizing content creation, or enhancing audience engagement. But either way, the mentor can provide guidance and expertise to facilitate the blogger’s next phase of focus. With the mentor’s support, the experienced bloggers can navigate the challenges of scaling their blog with confidence and continue their financial independence through blogging.

Best Blogging Coaches Content Creators
I’m distinguishing content creators from bloggers, because not every creator primarily focuses on blogs (like this one).
You can also “blog” on Instagram, YouTube, podcasts, etc. I would also put influencers in this category.
Content creators face many of the same struggles bloggers face, as both are mostly “volume based businesses”. Meaning, your long term success and stability depends on your ability to grow and monetize a decently large audience. The exception is if you sell coaching, services or other higher value products. In these cases, you can make a significant income with a much smaller audience.
Working with a coach as a content creator creates a ton of shortcuts, similar to blogging, whether you’re a blogger, YouTuber, or social media influencer. A coach can provide advice on content marketing, business models, and monetization strategies, empowering you to maximize your earning potential sooner.
Monetization Strategy
Blogging coaching also helps you get clear on their business model and monetization strategy.
From there, you can decide the best way to continue growing the audience based on how you want to earn your income as a creator. What you sell has a huge influence on how you market and sell. A lot of influencers focus on growing an audience first, then monetizing later. But making money with affiliates is very different than making money selling services. If you decide this earlier on, you can shorten the time it takes to monetize.
Growing and maintaining a strong presence online is super important for content creators, since generally a growing income depends on a growing audience (for influencers). With the guidance of a coach, you can develop strategies to grow your visibility faster (including social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Podcasts, etc.)
For example, I worked with one client who had a blog, but wanted to create a YouTube channel as well since she got hit in one of the Google updates. I offered insights into creating YouTube videos that complemented her blog content and expanded the reach and impact by optimizing for the unique SEO of each platform. (Blog SEO and YouTube SEO, respectively.)

Coaching Sessions
What happens in one-on-one coaching sessions with blogging coaching?
Coaching sessions are where most of the magic happens.
Not only can you use coaching calls to get tailored guidance and support on strategy, but you can also use calls for actual implementation.
Calls could include refining blogging skills, strategizing for increased blog traffic, or optimizing your email list newsletters for better engagement.
They can also involve actually doing the tasks to implement all of that. Calls provide the direction needed to set content creators on the right path, and often time to do some of that together.
What Else Is Covered
Coaching sessions also dive into aspects of monetization. For example, if you monetize through affiliates, we focus on things like affiliate marketing and leveraging affiliate links effectively. The goal as a blogger with affiliate marketing is encouraging a steady stream of income while maintaining credibility with your audience.
Additionally, calls may also provides insights into less business-y things, like cultivating a work-life balance. While not everyone feels excited to talk about “life” things on a business coaching call, it’s essential for sustaining long-term success as an entrepreneur. We talk through things like effective time management, your ideal schedule, and increasing productivity.
Ultimately, coaching sessions serve as a space for focusing not just on building a blog, but building a successful business that also supports the life you want.
Business Coaches VS Blog Coach
Blog coaches and business coaches both offer valuable guidance and support to individuals looking to succeed in their respective endeavors. A blog coach is usually a type of business coach.
However, while there are similarities between the two roles, there are also distinct differences in their focus and approach.
It’s not uncommon for bloggers who have had some success to decide they want to provide coaching and help others do the same. While there’s nothing wrong with this, a blogger who decided to become a coach has a ot less knowledge and context than an experienced marketer and coach who has a successful blog.
As someone whose been blogging and marketing since 2011, and who also had a corporate career, I can attest to how much I’ve been able to help clients compared to the people they worked with before me who had less context and knowledge. I don’t say this to sound arrogant! I say this to make sure you ask the right questions when you hire someone.
Both coaching businesses and blogging coaches work with a target audience, but they cater to different demographics. Business coaches typically assist small businesses and entrepreneurs in developing strategic plans, refining their operations, and achieving growth. On the other hand, a blogging coach only specializes in guiding you through the parts of your business directly related to blogging: content creation, audience engagement, and monetization strategies specific to blogging.
Another key potential difference between business consultants and blogging coaches lies in their focus on strategic plans. A consultant may have a broader, more comprehensive focus for your blogging business than a blogging coach.
